The Blessings of Christmas

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel praising God and saying ,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:13-14

Christmas I may say is the greatest celebration of the year. For it celebrates the birth of the Messiah, the Lord JesusChrist. And the birth of JesusChrist brings much blessings to mankind. That’s why Christmas brings much blessings to the world. The existence of Christmas just prove that men are highly favored by the great and awesome God of the universe. Yes inspite of men’s depravity and sinfulness, God’s favor rest on them

.

Christmas brings many blessings to men. Among these blessings the following are the best.

The Blessing of Reconciliation

Because of Christmas, there is a way provided for sinful men to be reconciled back to the holy God. Christmas brings us back to our Father’s arms. Christ incarnation provided a way for the forgiveness from our sins and salvation for our souls. Once we are godless, hopeless in this world, but because of Christmas we find a new home in God’s presence.

The Blessing of Reversal

Because of Christ’s coming to our life, we experienced great reversals in our lives. When we experienced rejection in this world, we find acceptance in God. We are accepted and loved by God unconditionally . The world system has its own standard of accepting people, we may not be qualified for the standard set by the world because of our own incompetencies, but God will always be willing to accept us as long as our heart is right. We need not be brilliant-minded, we need not be wealthy, we need not be gorgeous, as simple as we are , God is always willing to accept us , as long as we are willing to yield our lives to Him completely.

When we experience despair and disappointment in this world, God brings us new hope to inspire our lives. The promises found in His Word, the Bible are great source of encouragement to lighten the burden each day of our lives bring. When we experience distress and danger in our daily circumstances , we find great refuge and protection in our loving God. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower. In times of distress and danger, the righteous call on His Name and find safety.

When we experience sickness and pain, we find our healing in the Lord. The Lord is our ever loving Healer who heals us from all our infirmities. When we experience loneliness, we always find comfort in the Lord. The Spirit of God is a great Comforter that settles all our strife deep within. When we experience lack of supply , we always find that the Lord’s provision is at hand. The Lord indeed is our ever faithful provider.

We experience all these reversals in life, when we accepted Christ in our hearts. Christmas indeed bring great reversal to one’s eternal destiny. We are all once destined to eternal damnation, but because of Christmas our eternal destiny is reversed. Once hellbound, we now became heavenbound because of Christmas.

As Christians we have indeed great reasons to celebrate Christmas, for we have been recipients of all the blessings it bring. This year, let us celebrate Christmas with so much thanksgivings in our hearts.
