80Jesus Christ – The Light of the World.
When Jesus spoke to again to the people, He said,
“I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
The Holiday that is being celebrated by the Jews during December is not Christmas but the one known as “Hannukah” or “Festival of Lights.”
“Hannukah or “Festival of Lights” is celebrated for eight days commencing on the 25th day of the month of Kislev (November to December) to commemorate the victory of the Jews over the Hellenist Syrians in 165 B.C.
It was during this particular occasion that Jesus Christ pronounced Himself as the “Light of the World.”
What is the meaning of being the Light of the World?
The whole world is in darkness. Why? The whole world is in darkness because evil ruled it and it is separated from God. As it is written in I John 5:19. “That the world is under the control of the evil one.”
The world is ruled by evil powers. Satan is the prince of this world. Since the day when Adam succumbed to Satan, darkness has ruled the world and man was separated from God.
With the fall, Satan brought to the earth the order which he himself had conceived, and with that began the world system of which we are speaking. Satan took advantage of man’s sin and the door threw open to him to introduce into the earth the organization which he had set himself to establish which includes politics, education, literature, science, arts, law, commerce, music –such are the things that constitute the world
.
Everything in the world is under Satan’s dominion. Satan is the ruler of the entire world system. Touching of any of these things is also touching the evil. You may say what about education? What is wrong with studying and gaining a degree. But it has been a source of “pride of life” and has become roots of man’s selfish ambitions. What about business? It has been a source of greed and covetousness. What about arts and entertainment? It has been a source of man’s desire for self-glory. Science has always been used in finding proofs for disproving God.
When Christ came into the world, the world was given the light. The light that leads to eternal life. The world which is under the Satan’s dominion is also under God’s judgment, it is bound for doom. The world is in darkness because it is Spiritually blind and detached from the life of God. The world cannot comprehend the things of God. Christ is the light because he brings illumination to man’s darkened minds. Christ is the light because he bring revelation about God and His Kingdom. Christ is the light because he is the one who reveals to men God’s way of righteousness and salvation.
Prophet Isaiah testified about the light of Jesus Christ as it is written in Isaiah 9:1-2:
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light. On those living on the shadow pf death a light has dawned.”
Man is separated from God. Jesus is the One who breaks the very great wall of sin between Man and God. Jesus words are life that brings light to men.
“Nevertheless the time of darkness, and despair will not get forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will soon be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles which lies along the road that runs between Jordan and the Sea will be filled with glory.”

I like that you have captured how the world is under the rulership of the Devil and he is the master of the unsaved and the frustrator of Christian living.
Believers however are children of the King, bought and paid for. Our Master is the creator and the sovereign authority of all things with the enemy being His footstool.

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Brothers and sisters understand that this light is the light that reasons with you everyday unto what is right and what is wrong....but man rejected the light and loved darkness.."the annointing that is in you will teach you all things and as it does,abide in him(the light)...you dont need any other teacher but the "christ".The word is near you and in your mouth!!!My friends,the light/the kingdom of God is "within" not "without" and thats where you have to go to find Him.Go within "Be still and know I am the Lord! and listen to his voice.Jesus said my sheep "HEAR" my voice and they follow me.You dont need any man to teach you but trust in God,the annointing in you as he is the one to teach you.He does not lie but men will and they do for their own gain.As you listen to the light in you;you slowly become a child of the light and thus come out of the world of darkness for darkness cannot contain your light.Those who follow the light become children of the light...sons of God.This is the True Gospel...Jesus said,If you "listen" to my teachings and "obey" my commandments (that which has been revealed by the light as you listen)the father will love you and I will love you and we will come and make our home in you!!!My friends we cannot perfect ourselves as we are weak.Jesus heard and did what the Father commanded,even the words he spoke...so!must we to that light.That light is given to all men....chinese,indian,korean,english whatever race as you can see how clearly we on earth are being judged by the light. How can we tell that the light of Christ is shining in us ?
When we walk,talk and act according to the prompting and directions of the light/annointing that is within us than shall we know we are children of the light.Jesus listened and obeyed the voice of his father.Not his will but the will of the father...all the way to calvary..death..silent like a lamb to the slaughter!!So you and I,we must also obey the voice of the lord that is within us until the day he and the father reveal themselves to you in perfection - born again...dead to the world but alive in christ.The tribulations suffered by the apostles were internal/within and not without.Thats why they encouraged each other continuosly.Mankind today are looking for the coming tribulation without.But my friends the tribulations are private...you and God alone "within".Yes,sister!!thats the true hidden Gospel Jesus taught and the diciples taught...the same gospel that was lost,revived in the 1700hrs...lost again.Jesus has already returned 2000yrs ago!!!Remember Jesus said to his diciples ...some of you standing here will not taste death until you see the kingdom coming in glory!!! Again...this same gospel is now emerging again to reveal all truth.Jesus said the kingdom is within.Why do mankind today worship "without" looking for signs out in space or for physical means to satisfy their ego.The kingdom is spiritual and you go within to find it. Some preachers/teachings today say that as long as we are in the flesh we cannot be holy.The Lord said be holy for your father is holy....Yes we can be made holy only by the Lords guiding hand where we are subjected to personal trials and tribulations just as the apostles were.Remember John in relevation said..I am your brother in tribulation...This teaching may be new to you all but I think it sounds better...dont it.Yes it is the truth.If you listen and follow men...and if they are blind???But if you sit in silence and in reverence and wait for his majesty to talk to you and teach you...yes he will.Like I said earlier this light is given to all men.This light is the voice within you that reasons with you everyday.Why does deep meditators appear to be so full of wisdom and peaceful....aha! Christ the light of all men!But they did not understand who the light was because even their fellow christian brothers do not know themselves..Amen.Peace to you.
I have for the past years searched up and down for the truth for I was hungry and men cannot satisfy the thirst of God in me.Many days of fasting without food and water drying in my spiritual desert the lord answered my prayers.My sister be very careful for the bible interpretations today are corrupt at least 1000+ errors from original script.My answer to you.. is go to the one who wrote the bible i.e the Lord...the light and annointing in you.Just as 1John 2:27 says..My peace to you.Allan
great insight!! recently i have been feeling my life is in ruins. under the pretext of busy life and other problems i moved astray from the word of God. my prayer time got lesser and lesser now almost died out. helplessy i browsed on the net and here i found encouraging words! God bless you all!

One night I prayed to Jesus to speak to me, just anything. He used to speak to the prophets so why couldn't he speak to me.
I was still awake when I heard His voice. This is what I remember he said,
"There is darkness
and there is light.
The light shall overcome the darkness.
The light shines in you because you testify my name in public places."
He said more but I can't remember... I got goosebumps when he said, the light shines in you because you testify my name in public places. I knew it was Jesus!

I am so thankful Jesus die on the cross for our sins and he is the light of the world. One day I was lost and he came into my heart and saved me from my sins. He is my healer and my advocated and my savior. I am so glad that I know him.
